Luke 14:15-24 ~ Continuing the narrative of Jesus dining with the Pharisees and Scribes, another opportunity arises to correct their false beliefs. Pastor Rod Bunton explains how the parable Jesus gives about invited guests to a banquet relates to the fate of these non-believing Jews and their invitation to the Kingdom of God.

Luke 14:1-14 ~ When Jesus was invited to dine with Pharisees on the Sabbath, they were seeking to find something of which to accuse Him of violating. Pastor Rod Bunton shows how Jesus used this opportunity to expose their false teaching and prideful lifestyles.

Luke 13:31-35 ~ Some Pharisees came to Jesus to urge him to flee because Herod was seeking to kill him. Pastor Rod Bunton answers the question, can anything thwart God’s plan for mercy to all sinners?

Luke 13:22-30 ~ After Jesus described the greatness of the coming kingdom of Heaven, some asked if those who will be saved are few. Pastor Rod Bunton takes us through the challenging answer that Jesus gave: the doorway is narrow and difficult for many to enter.

Luke 13:18-21 ~ Jesus addressed the crowd with two similar parables—one about the mustard seed that grows into a great tree and another about the small amount of leaven that affects a large amount of flour. Pastor Rod Bunton explains how this teaches us about the arrival of the kingdom of heaven that exists in the hearts of believers and one day will inhabit the entire world.

Luke 13:10-17 ~ While teaching in the synagogue, Jesus saw a woman’s need and removed a harmful spirit of Satan from her, which also healed her physical affliction. Pastor Rod Bunton explains how this act of compassion caused conflict with the leader of the synagogue, providing another opportunity to teach truth.

Luke 13:1-9 ~ Followers asked Jesus about two tragedies that resulted in the death of some who did not seem to deserve their fate. Jesus explained that they did not die because their sins were worse than the sins of others. Pastor Rod Bunton teaches that Jesus went on to warn these followers that what was more important was whether or not they had repented before they died.

Luke 12:54-59 ~ Jesus had presented all of the evidence that His followers needed to hear and He explained the consequences of failing to be ready and yet many still did nothing. Pastor Rod Bunton emphasizes the two important takeaways from this passage: now is the time to embrace the truth and to settle with our accuser.

Luke 12:49-53 ~ After warning his audience to be ready for the day when He comes again, Jesus explained His purpose on earth before that day. Pastor Rod Bunton teaches that Christ did not walk the earth in order to bring peace, rather to separate believers from unbelievers.

Luke 12:35-48 ~ Jesus warned us to be ready for when He comes again. Pastor Rod Bunton reviews what it means to be ready and what will happen if we are not.

Luke 12:22-34 ~ Verse 34 in this passage exposes where worry takes us: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Pastor Rod Bunton asks us to consider where our heart is and exhorts us desire God more than anything.
